General

NorthShoreAuction.com is a family friendly site owned and operated by Jack Koenig & Associates LTD as a public service to help not for profits raise revenue to fund their activities. It also serves in a similar manner to help local residents recycle used, but still useful items cluttering up their homes.

Basic auctions on either of the above venues are FREE to their respective users, both buyers and sellers.

NorthShoreAuction.com also has “pay for use” sections including an “Estate Content” section for auctioning high value items; a “Flea Market” section for budding entrepreneurs to sell/trade their merchandise in the fast paced environment found in the typical flea market, and a “Le Grande Bazaar” section in which invited entrepreneurs can setup their own storefront in the flavor of Istanbul’s famed “Le Grande Bazaar.”

NorthShoreAuction.com only provides a matching service between buyers and sellers who have registered on the website. Unless otherwise indicated, NorthShoreAuction.com  does not own or handle any of the listed goods or services, resulting in our inability to verify the quality and/or safety of any listed item.

The materials presented on NorthShoreAuction.com are provided “as is.” Use of the site comes with no warranties, either expressed or implied, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular use, non-infringement of intellectual property, or other violation of rights.

As a user, you agree that NorthShoreAuction.com will not be held responsible for any interruption in service, errors and/or omissions, caused by any means and that NSA does not guarantee uninterrupted or error free service on the site.  Seller and bidder acknowledges that all auctions on NorthShoreAuction.com are conducted electronically and are subject to the vagaries of hardware and software that may malfunction without warning.

NorthShoreAuction.com may, at its option and sole discretion, void any sale, temporarily suspend any bidding, and/or re-sell any item that was affected by any malfunction.

Governing Law

NorthShoreAuction.com is governed by the prevailing laws of the State of Illinois, USA. In no event shall NorthShoreAuction.com or its supporters, clients, or donors be liable for any damages, including without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption, arising out of the use, or inability to use, the materials on the NorthShoreAuction.com website, even if NorthShoreAuction.com or a NorthShoreAuction.com they authorized representative has been notified of the possibility of such damage(s).

User Registration

Types Of Users

There are three user groups:

The user group Not-For-Profits will be discussed first

Not-For-Profits (NFPs) are a unique situation, and the main reason NorthShoreAuction.com was established. ONLY those registrants granted the unique NFP code can post in the FREE, Not-For-Profit category. And those granted this special privilege may NOT post in any other category. Not-For-Profits must obtain their special code before registration. 

All other applicants have two choices available:


Types Of Merchandise, Language, Legalities

As a family friendly venue, items posted on NorthShoreAuction.com must reflect that character. Sexually oriented items, pornographic materials, profane or vulgar language, and anti religious items are prohibited. Those attempting to sell (auction) stolen merchandise, drugs of any sort, or dubious services will be treated very harshly. NorthShoreAuction.com may only be used for legal purposes and in a lawful manner. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations regarding use of our services pertaining to, but not limited to selling, buying, advertising, and/or transferring funds.

Auction Photo(s) And Description

It is the responsibility of the seller to provide an accurate description of the auction item as well as un-retouched, accurate photos. In the event a seller provides inaccurate or misleading information, it will constitute a breach of honesty and may provide a reason for disputing the auction.

Changes

Sellers are responsible for insuring that all auction descriptions are true and correct prior to each auction. But those descriptions shall not be construed as warranty, either expressed or implied, and may change prior to the first bid. Although NorthShoreAuction.com makes every effort to prevent description changes after an auction has begun, all items are sold as is with all its faults therein, known, apparent, or otherwise.

Withdrawal of Auction

Auctions may be withdrawn only if circumstance dictate harm may otherwise occur. NorthShoreAuction.com attempts to minimize such occurrences, but users must recognize that it may sometime occur. NorthShoreAuction.com reserves the right to do so without explanation and reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids pertaining to that item.

Auction Winner

The highest bidder at the end of each auction shall be designated the winner. If any type of dispute arises to such designation, NorthShoreAuction.com reserves the right to reopen bidding and/or designate the winner at its discretion.

Payments

Upon successfully winning an auction, it is the buyer’s responsibility to make arrangements for payment of merchandise with the seller. If the transaction is to be made locally, it is suggested that such payment be made in the parking lot of the local police station.

Delivery of Merchandise

Upon receipt of payment or establishing an acceptable venue for making payment, the seller must make arrangements for delivery of the item to the buyer. . If the transaction is to be made locally, it is suggested that such payment be made in the parking lot of the local police station.
